The recent 15% freight rate cut for shipping aluminum ingot out of Xinjiang will not trigger a massive outflow of the light metal from the province, Shanghai Metals Market notes.
SHANGHAI, Jun. 25 (SMM) – The recent 15% freight rate cut for shipping aluminum ingot out of Xinjiang will not trigger a massive outflow of the light metal from the province, Shanghai Metals Market notes.

SMM’s conclusion is based largely on the fact that the traditional off-season for aluminum consumption is setting in. Besides, growing aluminum liquid consumption in Xinjiang will also curtail exodus of ingot.
